What we’re looking for:

Hometeam is looking for an ambitious, motivated, organized, and analytical Staff Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team. Reporting directly to our Controller, you’ll take ownership over accounts payable and general bookkeeping, month end close, and assist in cross-functional, business-wide initiatives. We’re looking for someone who is looking to grow within a mission-driven organization. You’ll work with talented professionals who will be the driving force in getting us from where Hometeam is now to our next huge step as a company. Your attention to detail and your willingness to get your hands dirty will be rewarded with more and more responsibility and greater impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Own accounts payable and general bookkeeping, including but not limited to recording and classifying all bank transactions and processing reconciliations, managing expenses, and maintenance of vendors
  • Process and categorize A/P invoices using Bill.com
  • Issue checks as needed for vendors/payroll payments, including processing and ensuring 1099 accuracy
  • Coordinate with registered agent to ensure compliance in applicable states by preparing and filing annual filings
  • Process accruals and other general entries for month end close by analyzing GL accounts
  • Prepare reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and analyze variances from period to period

Desired qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant business field
  • 1-3 years of experience in small to mid-size company accounting
  • Experience with Quickbooks preferred
  • Experience with Accounts Payable highly preferred
  • High level of attention to detail, from a qualitative and a quantitative perspective
  • Extremely comfortable rolling up your sleeves and diving deep into the numbers
  • Highly analytical with a strong mathematics/accounting mind
  • Motivated self-starter and creative problem-solver who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A genuine, compassionate desire to serve others and help those in need
